Really it is the little things that make us who we are. The fact that I like ketchup and ranch mixed together for my french fries. The fact that my car is bright yellow and that I enjoy driving it and having people look. Really these are the things that make us who we are.
I started my life in West Texas. I was born in Odessa, TX. Odessa was never much when I was growing up, but now it is this uber-famous town. The book, movie, and subsequent tv show called ‘Friday Night Lights’ was a true story about my high school Permian. Can I tell you how much I hated that school when I went there, it really is just as football obsessed as it is portrayed. I think the coolest thing to happen to Odessa is the fact that ‘Heroes’ the TV show based one of the main characters out of there and one big evil corporation that liked to kidnap people. Really what better place to kidnap someone to than Odessa, I guarantee no one would come looking for them.
Nashville called me at an early age. I was in 5th grade when I told my mom I was going to live in Nashville. In 1997 I did just that. I moved to Nashville to attend college at Belmont University. I attended for a few semesters and then landed a sweet “job” and eventually decided to do that full time.
My job was that of my own company and I called it Fall Awake. Fall Awake focused on web sites, web marketing, and photography. Most of my client base came from music artists and record companies. I worked for some of the biggest and brightest in Christian Music and even in country. I was on the road more than I care to remember. Taking photos and video for promotional use on the web sites kept me extremely busy, but man it was a great time.
I eventually burned out and packed up my bags and left Nashville for Sunny California. I did freelance work for about a year and then decided I wanted to try a real job. So I got a job at a local church doing all their media. Billboards, postcards, flyers, program shells, web sites, and video…I did it all.
In January of 2007 I decided I was ready to move back to Nashville, I had been gone for 5 years and was ready to come back to the music city. I also finished up my degree and finally graduated from Belmont. My current digs are working at Gibson Guitars in the web division.
My weekends are mostly spent close to home with my 2 cats and 1 dog. They keep my on my toes and entertained.
