I wanted to share a few pictures from my recent trip to Jamaica. I was in Montego Bay for the day, but actually ended up quite inland at a local plantation. The drive up afforded me several sites that I would have not gotten to see otherwise. The sites included local life, kids getting out of school, roadside markets and more.
I found out that I love Jamaican food and culture. There is such a joy and a laid back kind of attitude that seemed to be all over most people.
I also experienced a local art fair where bargaining was the name of the game. It was booth after booth of local art, jewelry, clothing and more. It was overwhelming to say the least — women grabbing your arm asking you to come see their booth. At once point I believe I had about 5 women pulling me in different direction trying to get me into their booth that was no bigger than my bathroom.
Jamaica is defiantly on my list of places to go back and visit. There is just so much culture there…so much life!
Here are a few pictures…visit my Flickr page for all of them.
More to come from my trip with a full review…right now I still feel like I am moving so my brain is a little wobbly!
