Next week Belmont is holding a week long ‘Emerge’ seminar/renewal on campus. Tony Jones and Len Sweet will be the guest speakers.
I have had the opportunity to meet, talk to, and listen to Len Sweet before. He is a great speaker and he is author of one of my favorite all time books, “Out of the question, Into the mystery”. I am excited to hear him speak again.
Tony Jones is someone I have not had the pleasure of hearing before, but I have read one of his books. I have read ‘The Sacred Way’. It was a long time ago, but I remember it being a great book. There are at least 3 more of his books that I want to read, but have not had the money to buy them yet.
Another cool thing is I get to have lunch with Tony. A group I am involved with The Cohorts is hosting a time with him. Because the group is part of the emergent village Tony wanted to come hang out with our group.
I have been wanting to do more of the emergent village’s conferences, but money has kept me from doing so. I want to go to Brian Mclaren’s upcoming book conference. I really like Brian’s work. He is also just a great guy and took time out to talk to me about the direction of my school and studies.
This upcoming week is going to be an interesting week.
