Today I had an experience I was not expecting. I came home and plugged in my iPhone to my Macbook Pro. As I plugged it in a strange thing happened…my printer came on. This is not normal. I power off all equipment I do not use on a regular basis. So my first thought was that someone had been on my computer.
I looked at the printer and noticed a couple of sheets had been printed and left by the printer. I looked at Safari and Firefox’s history and there was nothing there, but Safari has this little feature that allows people to surf without leaving a trace of where they had been.
It was not hard to figure out who had been on my computer. The thing I could not figure out was how long and what had been looked at. It was one of my roommates who had been on my laptop. I was trying not to get mad, but that is a line you do not cross. No one has any right to be on anyones computer without permission. It is an invasion of privacy. Plain and simple.
I have not confronted this person yet because I want to give myself some time to have a rational though process. In the meantime my laptop is locked down like Fort Knox. I do not even have anything valuable on here (beyond the normal stuff), but it is the principle. Do not get on someones computer…especially not mine!
With technology now days where is that line drawn? No one would ever go through someone’s bank statements or mail…it is illegal. I wonder if those statues apply to someone getting on a personal computer that has the same kind of information….

wow, not cool!
I still think I might have you beat though. Remember the time I was out of town, and Michelle packed up my desktop and took it to her house out in Antioch? What the crap?? I think I was too shocked to even freak out about it
