I am going through withdraw! My head has been throbbing for two days. I can not get enough sleep. I feel distant from my body and my temperature has been high along with random cold sweats.
The sad part is that I am rounding the corner to day 4 of not having soda. It is amazing what the body goes through when it is deprived of something that it likes and it used to.
People ask me why I am going through all this for something so minor as a soda, I have to tell them I am not sure why – it just seems like it is the right thing to do. I have been working on changing little bits of my lifestyle to reflect a healthier person.
I am switching to healthier food and preparing as much as I can with organic choices. I have never used salt when cooking so that part is easy. When I eat out I am choosing healthier options (like tonight was salmon instead of a burger).
Walking 2-3 miles a day and weight training 2-3 times a week is also part of my routine. (Though I have been weight training for several months.)
It really is just small choices that I am making over and over again. Right now it seems harder than it is because I know one Dr. Pepper would make my headache go away, but I am hoping that the long term benefits will outweigh the short term hardship
