image001As someone who is very familiar with self-help books I was fairly skeptical (but interested) when this title came across my desk. ( ok, so not really my desk, more like my hand, as in  my roommate handed it to me and said, ” I think this could help you”)

Perfect for the New Year, Linamen offers practical tips on how to stop procrastinating, how to shake up your life, and how to beat those energy busters that we all face from time to time. This book is a must read for anyone who has ever tried more than once( and failed) to change a habit. With personal anecdotes and a strong helping of humor she not only delivers great advice, she actually makes you believe you can do it too.

Unfortunately, fear, fatigue, adversity, heartbreak, past failures, and even the choices of other people get in the way and make lasting change seem out of reach. Having been there herself, Karen Linamenknows exactly how to take readers from where they are to where they want to be.

In Only Nuns Change Habits Overnight, she examines 52 powerful actions readers can apply to any change they long to embrace. Her insights apply to career, finances, personal health and fitness, relationships, faith—in fact, every facet of a woman’s life.

Blending laugh-out-loud humor and sage advice, Linamen shows readers the link between dissatisfaction and transformation, how to remodel habits, the little-known truth about procrastination, how to generate the energy they need to pursue the life they desire, how to benefit from options and resources they never dreamed they had, and much, much more!

Normally I would write a review of the show, but I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves….

Recently I dropped a few Jackons at the iTunes store to get some new music for my listening pleasure. I walked away with a few treasures that I wanted to share with you…

1. Ane Brun – I can say one thing … UH-MAZING. Ane is from Norway but currently lives in Sweden. She released her first album in 2003. Though she has only had two releases in America she is hugely popular in parts of Europe.

From the first 30 second sound clip I knew I had to own this album. Her voice is smooth and sultry mixed with folk classical.  The song ‘Don’t Leave’ is a true masterpiece. The song ‘Gillian is one that I relate to as the song is about the music of Gillian Welch

This is an album to pick up if you are looking great music that is not mainstream American music.

Here is a quick sneak at one of the songs from her newest album, “Changing Of Seasons”.

2.HoneyHoney – I am sure most of the music bluffs reading this already know this dynamic Duo, but for those who don’t..get ready! I first heard about this group with the video ‘Little Toy Gun’ directed by Kiefer Sutherland. The video was a stroke of brilliance and the song was catchy, but not in a beat your head against the wall way.

For some strange reason I had not gotten their album ‘First Rodeo’ and decided to finally get it and have been listening to it non stop! It is just so awesome. With a swing of folk, old country, rock, pop, classical, and something that I can’t quite pin down, it is an ear pleasing journey.

This album is worth every cent.

Here is the most awesome music video ever…

3. The Bird And The Bee – I first talked about this group when their first album came out and now they have a couple of new EP’s out on iTunes. ‘One Too Many Hearts’ and ‘Please Clap You Hands’ and great add ons to their debut album.

They also put out a single called ‘Love Letter To Japan’ which is more upbeat than their previous work, but just an amazing track.

ps. If you really want some good Christmas music…here ya go…
