Recently I was reading a blog of a fellow Nashville Tweeter and saw a post that had an amazing video in it. What caught my attention was the fact the video had TJ Thyne in it. TJ is part of the cast of my favorite show ‘Bones’. I clicked play and for 16 minutes (yes it is that long) I was captivated by the story that played out on my computer screen.

This short film ‘Validated’ is a video that everyone needs to share with someone they know. It truly helps us realize the importance of taking that extra step and reaching someone where they are.

I hope you take the time to watch this video and pass it on to someone special in your life.

image002‘The Echo Within’ is the latest offering from writer Robert Benson. Benson has written several books that I have found great inspiration from such as; ‘Between The Dreaming and Coming True’ and ‘Living Prayer’ (to name a few and not counting the ones I have on my shelf that I have not yet read).

‘The Echo Within’ is another great addition to Benson’s literary library. In today’s age we hear so much about calling and gifting and that is what this book is about, but it is not a follow these steps and for $99.99 you too can have the life of your dreams. Benson tells his story from beginnings working for his dad through his stay in the mental hospital. Benson emphasizes that we each have our journey, our part to play in this world. No this book does not provide any pat answers to life’s biggest question, but it does provide stepping stones to help you find your way in this winding, bumpy road.

Benson’s latest book is one I would recommend to anyone on the journey of life. It lends bumpers to finding your calling and finding your true destiny.

Book info:

The Echo Within is a profoundly affecting, honest look at the myriad ways we are drawn into our life’s best work.

Written out of his own lifelong search for and response to the calling voice of God, Robert Benson recounts his discovery of the meaning of vocation, work, and purpose through the ups and downs inherent in family life, professional choice, and spiritual experience. With clarity and insight, and in the elegant prose for which he is known, he gently invites and encourages readers to find such deep truths for their lives as well. In particular, he illuminates the way for readers to explore:

  • ways to sense the Holy in our pursuits, both in the pursuits themselves and within ourselves.
  • how to fall into our vocation and chart a course toward it at the same time.
  • how to love the work we do, and the process of doing it.

For anyone beginning a new career or sensing a needed change in their life or wrestling with a transition suddenly thrust upon them, Robert Benson delivers wisdom, humor, and heart in what he’s learned about listening for The Echo Within—and how it can help us discover our calling

Ashley Cleveland played live tonight in music city at 3rd & Lindsley. It was a a night of rocking blues, soulful hammond b-3 organ, and downright crazy electric guitar.

I first saw Ashley in concert over ten years ago and her show is still just as electric.

Here are a few images from the show. To see all of them please visit my flickr page.
