Recently I got a copy of Aperture 2 by Apple. I had not used the software since it first came out. The first copy I had of Aperture was weak and buggy, the new version seems to have improved drastically.

I love the ability to really handle RAW photo files. iPhoto is sluggish when handling 5mb files while Aperture flies right through them.

So far my favorite features are the recovery slider, vibrancy slider, and easy access to individual color balance. These features alone make the program worth purchasing.

To improve Aperture I would make photo groups, like iPhoto. The grouping in Aperture seems to lack a little – though it is easy to create new projects, drag photos, and delete. I love the iPhoto interface for photo galleries. 

I am going to download a trial of Adobe Lightroom and compare that to this new version of Aperture. I would love to see how it compares before making my decision of which software to buy. I am also curious to see which one has better 3rd party plugins. Another thing I will test is how easy it is to get each photo into Photoshop to do advanced editing.

This is why I love iTunes. I got my email just a few minutes ago that my pre-order for Sheryl Crow’s new album was ready for me to download. …Click…..listen!!

I love iTunes! I love Sheryl Crow! I always love getting new music from Sheryl.

The full review will be posted tomorrow after I wear the album out. So far from what I can tell this is going to be her best work since “Sheryl Crow” (her 2nd album).

Also I want her guitar. I work at Gibson and I know what her model runs and I still want it, just wish I could afford it!

BTW…new Sherylcrow.com that is really awesome!

Recently I have been having problems with my Wordpress and thought it was because of the upgrade that I did to the new Wordpress, but I found out a bit of trivia. Wordpress is no long compatible with Safari.

Safari doesn’t (and can’t) support the WYSIWYG much at all, and there are a few AJAX things that we’re still debugging.

One of the main features that Safari does not support is the WYSIWYG editor. It drops all paragraphs and breaks from your post. Having all your text run together in one big long paragraph is really not any fun. Even after hand coding all the formatting and saving it, one edit will kill all the structure.

So I found this out AFTER I had deleted all my files and reinstalled Wordpress. Luckily I had backed up all my databases and files so it was an easy install. I am not really sure who I need to complain about here. It is an Apple vs. Wordpress thing and I am left stuck in the middle holding my SQL Database backup wondering what in the world is going on.

Ummp. Just got off the phone with Fed Ex.

Last night I got the email that my order had shipped and it would be here before 10:30am this morning. I just checked the status to see a ‘Delievery exception’ notice. I called Fed-ex and the lady kindly informed me that Apple had halted delieveries till later today.

Talk about power. My package was on a truck headed my way this morning and Apple makes one call and now I have to wait.

Anyone else get this message?

I am heading out in a few hours to go back to California for the first time since living here in Nashvegas again. I am excited and nervous all at the same time.

It is always strange seeing people that you have not seen in a long time. There is always that though of is this going to be as good as it was? Is this going to be awkward? Is this going to rock so much I am going to hate coming home?

I am about to pack up my laptop and camera (a sure sign that it is almost time to leave). Thankfully I still have my iPhone to check email and text on. Thank God for wonderful technology.

My layover is in Denver. I have only been through Denver airport once and once through the town on tour a few years ago. I think I will miss not having my layover in Vegas, but I guess I should not be gambling anyway..I just loose my money in the airport (the casino’s are another story).

I will be posting photos and blog entries (and tweets) while I am gone.

Well signing off this blog till Denver (hoping they have wireless in the airport).
