My Digital Life Organized – 1Password

August 31, 2010  |  Apple, Blog, Technology  |  ,

Every time I open my RSS feed there is another story about how to simplify, how to get organized, how to live with less…etc. We as a people are seeking a way to keep our lives as simple as possible. One thing that helps me is my mac. I have been a mac person for more years than I can remember (I can proudly wear the ‘I was Mac before Mac was cool’ sticker).  I will be doing a series on a few programs that help me (and my mac) run more effectively.

The first program that I tell any new mac buyer (or old) to get is 1Password. This is an amazing program and makes my life easier — much easier. I have a lot of passwords. I have a few passwords I use on some sites, but mostly my passwords look something like:  8*Dy9Vpt(3sxdg6^cKN>fH@a6hP^utgcj3f … it makes them impossible to remember and quite hard to hack. But if you have 50 sites that have passwords like that how do you remember them? 1Password !

1Password not only stores my passwords, serial numbers, secure notes, personal information, etc it helps me with recall by putting a button in my browser that allows me to enter my master password and then it fills in the blanks of username and password for me. See the inset image. When I have multiple logins on a site it gives me a drop down so I can select which account I want.

My notes are secure. My passwords are secure and easy to access. My serial numbers are tucked away. All are easy to access and oh one more thing…I can sync it to my iPhone. 1Password has an iPhone app that allows me to sync and have those with me at all points and times. So when I am in that meeting and someone asks what the password is..boom… it is in my phone!

This is an amazing program that makes my life easier.

Check it out: 1Password

Coming next in the series: Overflow

*I am not getting paid for this but gladly would if anyone wants to :)

Keeping It Together

I am an organized person but I am always looking for ways to become more organized. Thanks to SOHO Notes that is happening.

I am starting the process of taking my office paper free (except books and journals). All my receipts, ideas, emails that needs to be saved, password, etc will not be saved in SOHO Notes. This amazing program just blows me away.

So far my setup is for saving recipes, receipts, emails, inspiration, animal records and an inventory sheet. With ease I can save images, web pages, emails, word docs, spreadsheets, and more. It has a built in scanner interface and camera interface for video and image capture.

It has a $40 price tag, but I have found that it is well worth the money. If you have a mac and looking for a way to get organized then look into SOHO Notes.

Stonehenge Wallpaper

This last May I was in the UK for a couple of weeks and during that time I had an amazing trip to Stonehenge. I got to go after hours when there were no crowds. The clouds were just incredible and I got some amazing shots. I decided to turn this one into the first wallpaper of the site.

Download your size from the following: iPhone1024×7681280×9601920×1200

Humans Are Among Us

I keep a folder on my computer and in my filing cabinet of creative ads that I see. Things that make me laugh, things that inspire me, things I find amazing. Today I want to share an older ad that makes me laugh.

I love the randomness of this ad and the quirky sense of humor. Not to mention the mad illustration skills.

Enjoy…
